Decorative Concrete Stains
Decorative Concrete Stains offer an extra dimension in adding permanent, attractive colour effects to concrete and other mineral surfaces.
Staining creates a natural variegated, shaded look to the surface which allows scope for designers to create unique and bespoke finishes onto concrete, which are practical and economic to apply.
Decorative Concrete Stains from HRL, come in two forms:
- Sienna: which reacts with free lime in the concrete to produce a natural mineral appearance in a range of Earth Tone colours.
- Sorrento: which is a water borne, penetrating stain, produced in a wide variety of colours from semi transluscent to vibrant feature tones.
Sienna and Sorrento concrete stains are suitable for both exterior and interior use. Typical applications are:
Exterior:
- In situ pavement - Adding colour and natural variegation
- Concrete structures, such as retaining walls, bridge abutments etc.- to soften and mask visual impact of grey concrete.
- Simulated Rock - creating natural shaded stone - like effects to the surface.
Interior:
- Decorative Concrete Floor Finishes - for retail, commercial or residential floors and countertops.
Protection and Maintenance:
Stained surfaces should be protected by application of penetrating sealers, performance of which varies according to the desired surface use (see technical data sheet).
Protective coatings are offered which range from simple surface sealing and dust proofing, for natural weathering up to very high performance surface densifiers, where extremely abrasive conditions prevail.
